Fishing

The on site coarse fishing is very popular with all our guests, not only for the excellent fishing but also for the diverse wildlife the ponds and adjacent woodland supports, yet they are only 50 yards from the cottages.

The fishing is totally private, for the exclusive use of staying guests and no day tickets are offered to the general public. Fishing costs £4 per person per day. To maintain a healthy stock of fish we only allow barbless hooks and the use of keepnets is not permitted. Night fishing is permitted by arrangement and we do not have a close season.

Both ponds contain a mixed stock of most of the common coarse fish as well as some more exotic species. Common, mirror crucian and ghost carp as well as koi hybrids and goldfish are present up to 20lbs.Perch,tench,bream and rudd up to 4lbs. give good sport to the non-carp angler.

The ponds have purpose built and well maintained wooden fishing platforms. The majority will accommodate 2 people to allow children to fish in safety with an adult. Disabled and wheelchair anglers are also well catered for by the provision of some special fishing platforms with ramps or level access.
